Who we are
Clipmefy is an AI-powered video creation tool. When you use Clipmefy, we collect and process certain personal data to provide the service. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect and why

AI-powered features
Clipmefy uses artificial intelligence to generate video scripts and voiceovers. When you create a video:
- Your topic and script content are sent to Groq (LLM provider) to generate the script.
- The generated script is sent to ElevenLabs to produce the AI voiceover.
You are interacting with AI at every video-generation step. The final script and voiceover are AI-generated content.
Third-party service providers
We use third-party service providers to operate Clipmefy, including providers for database hosting, email delivery, payment processing, AI content generation, file storage, authentication, and website infrastructure. All providers are bound by data processing agreements and comply with GDPR. Transfers outside the EEA are covered by Standard Contractual Clauses (EU SCCs).

Cookies
Clipmefy uses only essential cookies — session tokens required for authentication. We do not use advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts. No cookie consent banner is required for essential cookies under GDPR.
Data retention
- Account data — kept until you delete your account.
- Job records and video topics — kept until you delete your account or the individual job.
- Hosted videos (OneDrive) — deleted automatically after 30 days (Pro) or 7 days (Free) from export.
- Password reset tokens — expire after 1 hour and are deleted on use.
- Anonymised analytics — we may retain aggregate, non-personal usage stats indefinitely.
Your rights
Under GDPR (and similar laws in Brazil, California, and other jurisdictions), you have the right to:
- Access — request a copy of all data we hold about you.
- Deletion — delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Delete account. We will process your request immediately.
- Portability — request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Rectification — correct inaccurate data via Settings or by emailing us.
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email.
- Object — object to processing based on legitimate interest.
To exercise any right, email hello@clipmefy.com. We respond within 30 days.
To request a data export, email hello@clipmefy.com with the subject "Data export request". We will send a JSON file of your account and job data within 30 days.
Children
Clipmefy is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, contact us and we will delete the data immediately.
Changes to this policy
We will notify registered users by email of any material changes to this policy before they take effect. The "Effective" date at the top of this page is always updated when changes are made.
